Need some advice please as I have not used either the BeoCenter 2 and or the BeoSound 4.

I'm looking for a small in-terms of footprint CD music system with DAB radio for my kitchen area; and do I need anymore B&O, looking at these two systems.

Any users out there that can kindly let me know the pros and cons on these ?

Beocenter 2 is quite a heavy piece of equipment. Looks good on its own feet on a tabletop, and also has raised table, wall and floorstand options.

You need space for the 'Wings' to open. I don't have experience of the Beosound 4 but it looks a more lightweight device with a smaller footprint.

Keep in mind you'll need floor or shelf space to tuck away the BC2's socket unit.   And you might want to listen to them beforehand.   IMHO, both are underperformers in terms of sound quality.

I had a BS4 and never liked it. It has a smaller footprint for sure but it is fiddly to get the cables into the bottom.

The Bc 2 is much more of a B O product and has great presence if you can stash away the black box. Make sure to get a DVD version.

Can not say I have heard any difference in sound,  I normally listen to a Bs 9000.

I think the BS 2300 series sound better as well.  There's something anemic and Lo-Fi about the 2, 4.

Please help me understand:

If you are talking about CDs - ok, there might be a difference (how the cd Player creates the sound from the bits and bytes).

But concerning radio, AUX-in port, how can there be a difference, too?
So for the sound working ist way through the Systems, they create different "streams"?
Don't the speakers get the same Information from the different Systems?!?!?

Thanks.

Ralf

The BC2 is/looks more B&O in many ways, but the BS4 is more practical, SD card and less vulnerable.

Never had any regrats buying the BS4 instead of the BC2.

Wouldn't that be the same thing as saying that all CD players, all tuners, and all preamplifiers sound the same?  The system isn't a straight wire.
