I currently have a pair of non-b&o speakers in a bathroom that are connected to a B&O passive box (located outside of the bathroom) and connected to the master link. I've used these speakers as such in the bathroom for about 10 years. While they've worked just fine, I've been thinking of replacing them with a beolab such as the BeoLab 3500 -- just so that I no longer have that odd non-B&O speaker in my home. Yes, this is a very steamy bathroom with a shower. I know -- not good for a speaker.

The proper advise is that a steamy bathroom is NO place for a nice B&O active beolab. What I'm interested in is real-life experiences from BeoWorld members. For those of you who have used active BeoLab speakers in a steamy bathroom, how long have such speakers lasted? On the other hand, have any of you experienced beolabs in a steamy bathroom ACTUALLY failing? And if so, how long did the failure take?

Had one in my last bathroom for 3 years. NEVER a problem.

When we moved I put a v1 in the bath. Again, no problems.

3500 is fantastic in bathroom and sounds really good.

GO FOR IT.

I've installed many BeoLab's in bathrooms throughout the years. Some have had to go in for service/repair. Far fewer than I've put in. Why not look at the new BeoLab 15/16 series and Amplifier 1? You get all the look and none of the activeness.

Ah, you know... A little B&O here, a little there

Ohhhh. I just read a review of the Beolab 15 speakers. I didn't know they could do that! Very cool!

I have been using BeoLab 3500 in bathrooms for nearly 10 years and never had any issue. I think this speaker is the perfect fit for such a place.

Or you can use a set of C/CX passives. I have a set of C75s running in my bathroom without issues. They are not bothered by the steam and humidity.

I have a BeoLit 12 living in the bathroom - no problems with that either.

My parents have had a Beolab 3500 in their 4sqm bathroom for 10 years and it's still going strong.

@beojeff

I guess your bathroom isn't steamy all day and night - unless you have a very big family and they're showering 24/7, humidity should not be a problem.
