Beosound 5 / Beomaster 5: When will we get a REALY good Control Software (App) from B&O?

Hi,


sometimes in the old forum there was an iPad application mentioned that will be released from Bang & Olufsen for the Beosound 5 / Beomaster 5 combi.

Any news about that?

I want a simple comfortable remote application that's showing what's playing and let me control the system, search for music etc.

I've been waiting for a couple of years now as well. Hope B&O or somebody else programs a nice and fully functional app soon. 

I think this will make BS5 complete, and until then we must live with the good old fasion up front control or buy the BEO6 wich I think is not much better than BEO4 when using BS5. 

B&O: Start inergrating with Apple and other smart devices, please!

The BS5 can be controlled by any DLNA app, except volume, on/off and MOTS control (which are easily controlled by BEO4/5/6). But B&O really need to come up quickly with an app enhancing the BS5 user experience!!

For the BS5 Encore, it is worse, as no app is compatible, because the BS5E is not seen on the network as a standard DLNA media renderer.

Come on B&O, hurry up!

Assuming you have WiFi at home: 

Enable WiFi on a BEO 6 and the BEO 6 fulfills these requirements ...

Hello!

I just found a very nice app called Creation 5 in App store. Very nice layout and it looks really good on my iPad!! And it works excellent. I hope it soon will open for playing radio...

When the app was installed on my iPad, I needed to open the Network info on my BEO 5. As I am no expert on BO5, I called a BO- store in Norway to help me open my Beosound 5 for my new app..

The price of the Creation 5 was about $ 58, NOK 359, GBP 39....

Hi, how did you "open" the network info in your Beosound 5? What did the BO-store tell you to do?

Hi!

I have to call my BO-dealer again.. I think it was under "maintainance" menu on the display.  I wil see if I have an answer for you by Thursday..

What is really important for B&O is the speaker sales, and speakers are sold for music systems and for TV's.

Therefore, as BS5 is the newest - and the only digital - music system from B&O, I would find it strange that B&O neglet updating their software. Unless completely new products would come soon.

But I agree that very little happens is this area, especially compared to other brands.

I hope updates soon will come.

Good evening Martin!

I an sorry for not having witten you earlier than now! I have been working hard, and with little or no spare time left, I haven´t had the time to invsetigate much! I calle one dealer, but he told me that the Creation 5 now has been upgraded so that you should not need to do anything with your Beosound 5. I am not sure about that, and since my app works on my BS 5 I can not check if that really is true. He told me to go into the mode " service setting" and from there enable music network, as far as I now can recall. I hope you will sucseed. The Creation 5 is a reallly nice app, but I am not yet really familiar with all the abilities it might offer!

Connect that to the BV11 and control it with the BeoRemote-app, which I think will have some further updates then.

My BM5/BS5 is in a separate room without a TV (and I don't own a B&O TV) and why B&O will not grant me the opportunity of doing some proper navigation on the BS5 itself, is beyond me.

When that is said Creation 5 is a nice app, but it is far from perfect. For instance, it will not play gapless and this makes the app useless to me.

(BTW. The new Creation 5 scales the picture on my iPad. It zooms in on the cover and only shows the middle section. Anybody experiencing the same?)
