(First post, please be gentle)
I've recently bought a used Beosound 5 Encore, and paired it with Beolab 6000 speakers. I have ripped the CDs to FLAC files and am streaming over a Windows 7 network from a Western Digital NAS. I am very happy with the sound and general usability, but have an unresolved problem with cover art - despite associating high resolution cover image files via file attributes - all I am getting on screen are heavily pixelated low res images. Accessing the exact same FLAC files via a 1.5 TB USB drive sees the Beosound use the high definition files.
Any bright ideas gratefully received.....
Your server is sending downsized thumbnails to the Enore - which (DLNA) server are you using?
MM
There is a tv - and there is a BV
(Double post)
MM - thanks for the response. From what I can see from the WD MyCloud control panel / googling, the DLNA is WD's proprietary one.
(Triple post)
Have a look in the interface of the WD MyCkoud - as far as I remember it has a Twonky server installed (?).
Be sure that is updated to the latest possible version.
I've installed another DLNA server and bypassed the WD NAS completely. It is working, even if it means using the drive I bought to back up the NAS and the NAS as the back up. I'll do some digging and see if there's a way of changing the NAS's software without turning it into a brick. Meanwhile, thanks for your help.
I Just can tell you what the B&O dealer told me when I bought the BM5:
B&O recommends to store cover images with resolution up to 500x500 pixels. If you have images with higher resolution, you need to reduce it by using a graphic software.

Not true.
higher resolution also possible.
did you ever tried to command the Beosound 5 with a tablet (as ipad)? there you will see the time that the device need to charge the covers.......
I had the same problems. The reason is that in your musicmaps there are mini-coverart jpg files wich has been created by windows mediaplayer.
You can't see them because they are hidden, so first you have to change the settings of the windows-map so that allso the hidden files are vissible.
Then you can delete them all, the problem is that mediaplayer will put them back automaticly..you can try to disable this in the settings of mediaplayer. I have disabeld the windows mediaplayer because i use vlc-mediaplayer ( works better then wmplayer).
Then it's best you enbed all the high quality coverart in the numbers , so not as a loose file, ( i use mp3tag for that.
If you do all thes things your problem will be solved.
I had the same problems and i still have the problem that coverart is only possible for a complete album and not for a title...I would like to a coverart for each number ( since i have a lot off compilation-albums with different artists...This works fine with all mediaplayers ..but not with a BS5.
I have send a message to B&O and they have responded that coverart is only possible for a album..not a number..or perhaps you have a sollution for that?
Greetings...Dirk
