moxxey: Very odd question
Very odd question
Maybe would have been better phrased like this: will BL20 be such a very significant improvement compared to BL9 that soundwise it will come closer to BL5, therefore justifying the significant price increase?
I can not wait to get out the new Beolab 9 to buy cheap old Beolab 9!
I hope for an improvement in the performance of new speakers, but, the current Beolab 9 sound beautifully.

Still an odd question: no-one knows yet. It's not been released. Wait and see for yourself, on release :)
I don't know how it could be a significant upgrade sound-wise. Even the mighty Beolab 5 is only a significant upgrade in certain scenarios.

I didn't know it had been announced, much less released.

You know what I mean. It's forthcoming. However, the key point is that there's very little reason to ask about the performance of a loudspeaker.....which no-one has seen or heard yet. Or certainly not compared in detail to the BL9s.

Not directed at you, but your own reply was relevant for piggy-backing. A pass for me, please :-) I was referring to the pricing question, and would also suggest the BeoWorld rumor mill hasn't done very well lately, anyway.
Instead of details of rumored products, maybe a new "What's wrong with B&O strategy " thread would make things interesting?

@SlyParma, heard anything from people who've heard them?

I would say a legitimate one. The sort of question that naturally comes to mind when a forthcoming product is being discussed.
Maybe theoretical at this stage (although some may have heard it in Brussels last week) and obviously we will have to wait for the answer, but as such certainly not irrelevant. Otherwise, one could argue further that there is very little reason to discuss an unreleased product in this thread at all

Please don't ask this question so early
*sobs* don't say that, after years of doing Sweet Fanny Adams, I did the "Oh I'll have the 46" BV11!" LMFAO
People that have listened to the "New Beolab 9" told me that it is very close to the Beolab 5. It is a significant improvement compared to the old Beolab 9.
Beovision 11-55, Beovision 10-46, Beovision 7-40, Beocenter 6-23, Beosound 9000, Beolab 18, Beolab 19, 2xBeolab 3, Beolab 8000, Beolab 6000, Beolab 2, Beocom 6000, Beosound 3, Playmaker
I received many comments after listening to the new Beolab 9. For me, not worth anything. Every ear has its own sensitivity. Each person has their own tastes. Every music has its own speaker.
As I did last month with some friends that we compared Beolab 8000, Beolab 4000, Beolab 3, Beolab 18 and Beolab 9.
So I understand so many things.
When new BL9 arrive at the store ask for a comparison with the Beolab5 or old Beolab9! Same music. Preferably the music you love.
Advertising and words are not worth anything.
