Hi.
I've had a great 8000 tt for the last 4 years or so, inherited it & have never had an issue. All of a sudden it has started shooting up in speed, rotating the platter so fast that the linear tracking arm zooms right to the label of the LP!
I've read only one other person having this issue... Is this related to the solenoid piston? If so, given how hard it is to get B&O parts & find authorized repair people, is it worth trying to fix this tt? I don't want to let it go but can't put a ton of money into fixing it if the problem might occur again.
Thanks for any thoughts, assistance, &c!

Hi Alex, and welcome!
I'd say get a new tachodisc first, you could well have one of those Mylar ones.
Then check on the solder joints at connectors and elsewhere, they can turn bad with age.
Contact Dillen here, Martin he has the disc (check it is plastic indeed) and he can also supply a capacitor kit, also mandatory.
A bit time-consuming but these nice decks can be repaired quite easily.

Thank you, Jacques! I will check into it.... - Alex
