Hello All! This is my first post on here, so forgive me for some very newbie questions. I'm a 21 year old college student who has been obsessed with B&O since I was about ten years old.

So on craigslist, I found an older wealthy couple selling not one but TWO Beovision 4-50's each with a BeoSystem 1, for $250 USD. Now after poking around, I realized BeoSystem 1 does not have HDMI (or any?) high-definition inputs.

What are my options for using the screens with high-def, HDMI devices? Primary use would be with an HDMI satellite receiver, latest AppleTV and HDMI blu-ray player.

Does the 4-50 have a DVI input? Could I bypass the BeoSystems and just use a DVI-HDMI converter + HDMI multi box? Or is it more complicated than that?

What good would the BeoSystems be? Don't have a B&O audio system (yet).

Using a North American config, so no SCART ;)

What level of software modification would be required? Only Beo4 remote, no Panasonic OEM remote.

ANY advice greatly appreciated!

Hi

Rapidly, your tv is non hd and will still be non hd whatever the new software.

The software can probably be updated but it won't solve your problem and it will cost you money because it should be done by a b&o dealer.

If you want to use hdmi source , you have to use scart. There are hd/hdmi to scart converter on the market.

These converter won't give you hd definition but the best pictures you can get from your tv.

Look at the hdfury converter.

I've also had some success with an HDMI to A/V and S-Video converter running about $50 on Amazon - it was a Keedox unit. Very nice, but standard def picture.

Depending in how much money you have to spend you could add a Beosystem 3 to this set up and give you the hd puts you seek?

You will need to check the make if the panel to see it it will support 768p. I would bet it does.
