Hey guys,
I've just bought a brand new BS5/BM5 and i would like to use my Android phone as a DLNA server and read it from the BS5 this way i can play the music that i have on my phone or/and manage the BS5 like change the song or things like this. I know that for iOS there's an app from Creation that let you manage it but i don't have apple product... is it possible on Android?
Thanks.
Yes, it is possible. If you activate the DLNA server in your BM5 and choose A.AUX as a source.I haven't tried with an Android device, cause I'm an iPhone guy, but it works flawlessly in windows and the windows media player.
Maybe Twonky beam is something for you? <= Haven't tried it on Android, but have good experiences from other Twonky products.
If you have a DLNA compatible app on your Android phone, you surely can use that to serve your BS/BM5 with music.
But that would be a very bad idea:
The app would have to be active as long as you (or the family) want to listen to music, and you could never turn off the phone or take it with you..
You can not 'manage the BS5' from your phone that way.
But you could (remote)control the server running on the BM5 (or on a NAS/PC on your local network) with an app like the Creation 5 or another DLNA app on your phone.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
I use Creation5, and it works quite OK with the latest updates.
It is easy to use, and it supports FLAC, not WMA Lossless.
Creation5 is an iDevice-only solution - the op uses an Android phone!
hey guys i really don't know how twonky works...can someone help me? i saw that there is an app for android.
thanks
