Hi all, back for more questions and hopefully answers. I have a Beocord 2400 Cassette deck that was thrown in with the purchase of a Beomaster a while ago, and I have been using it as a fancy book end until the other day when I found some old tapes and wanted to see what was on them. I noticed that when I plugged it in and hit the power button one VU gauge stayed still while the other (right channel) bounced all the way across and back, when I play tapes left and right audio seems to work just fine (however the left VU gauge doesn't move while the right does). But when I go to record tapes I only get right channel audio. What gives? Any hints? Naturally I've checked the cables, and those are fine. Thanks for any tips you might have.
Check for broken leads to the VU meters.Clean the large record/playback switch and replace the record/playback relay.Still no luck, put a scope to the signal path and see where the incoming signal is lost.
