Hello all from Spain,

I've a pair of Beolab 6000 and another beolab 8000 pair that I don't even know if are working. I got them from my parents, which were using them long time ago (they were initially bought around 1994 I think) and I'd like to check if they are working or not.

I saw on the manuals they have a RCA LINE input and a selector. How should I proceed? Just connecting an audio source through a mini-jack -> RCA cable? Of course, as I do not have an amplifier/receptor I only want to check them by pairs: first the two 6000 and then the 8000.

thanks in advance,

Ignacio.

Yes. You can plug an RCA to input jack of your iPhone and run a test.

No problem trying them out that way - but adjust the volume of your iPhone down to near minimum BEFORE powering up the speakers, or you might find that they definitely need repairs...

It's also a good idea to unplug the speakers from mains while making connections, you don't want to hear the buzz the speakers probably make when the RCA plug is "almost there".
