Hi
My BM6500 keeps losing it's settings when unplugged - can anyone tell me how easy is it to change the battery inside it and where do I get one from please?
If you have some solderingskills, it is.
Order a CR2130 for circuitboards which can be soldered. Take out the front verrtical board behind the display. Open up the housing on both sides and desolder the battery. Be careful with static electricity.
^ Great advice as always from beobuddy.
For the BC9500 I ordered my battery *with* the solder pegs already attached from Mouser Electronics in the USA. In the case of the BC9500 it was a renata CR2450 but it had "NFH-LF" at the end of the model number to indicate the solder feet. If the battery in the BM6500 is similar, don't try to solder them on yourself, the battery can explode from the heat.
Another option is to get a solder-in holder for a regular CR2032 button cell. It may take some effort to find a compact enough holder.
That doesn't save much time in battery replacement in the future though, as the new battery will last another 10-20 years anyway...
Do be careful with static electricity and try not to damage the wiring looms (those grey wires break easily at the connectors and reattaching them is a royal pain).

Hi, thanks for the advice, try as I might I cant find a 2130 with solder tages, have just ordered a 2130 and seperate case with leads - can I just check with someone that it is a 3V lithium battery as I figure this should work?
Forgot about the problem, till the power went whilst away and have had to reprogram it!
Sorry I meant have ordered a CR 2032 with a seperate case and wires - will this do the job?
