I am part of a vintage hifi facebook group and somebody there says he has read some threads about burning filters in beovox...he says he think it was M75 it concerned......Anyone heard of this ?
My re-capped M75 are my precious diamonds.
I don't know, but my S45-2 had both crossovers burnt. The wool inside the cabinet had caught fire as well. All the wires inside were burnt too, the insulators had melted.

Apart from Jacques S45-2 I remember weakly a S or M75 with burnt filters, on the forum, not as bad as Jacques´s but yes burnt components and wires
Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.
Hmm, thats the resistors... ?
I asume they were designed with that low effekt tolerance to work as a fuse...atleast the 1 Ohm´s that are present in almost all Beovox I have opened......
Any thoughts ?
I have also seen burned filters but rest assured that they were all designed to handle thespecified effect very well.The burning comes from severe overloading and you will often find the tweeters blown as well.

I've seen a number of crossovers for Penta speakers with burnt coils
//Bo.A long list...
