Hi all,

Can the Beomaster 8000 have speakers in differant rooms controlled via master link (or similar) like the Beocenter 7700 can?

Just wondering if I can have speakers in other rooms.

Thanks.

Well yes and no.

There was a converter MCL82 system  that would allow it but it is very rare to find in a complete version.

The same system worked with the 7700 system but its a bit different.

Very interesting, thanks for finding that out for me.

Is this it? New Bang & Olufsen Beolink ML to MCL Converter

How was it connected to the Beomaster 8000 and how did it enable more then the 4 allowed speakers to be connected? Did the more speakers you connected, the less power went to each speaker?

Thanks.

No.

Beolink multi room was at the very first stages in the mid '80s and used the names MCL82/32

By the late '80s it became what we know of Beolink MCL and MLC2A /AV modules with Beolink 1000 remote.

Then it became ML for master link and that it is where your find came in.

Unless you find the Beolab kit complete you can't get the BM8000 to the multi room as such unless you use speaker cables going from the second output to the room.

The above kit is the early MCL82 kit. For the BM8000 you would need a special converter box.

I have one of those but I still need an eye for the IR remote that would fit. Also a power transformer.
