Well I am listening to Radio Paradise here at home, playing through my first generation Beomaster 2000 and S45 speakers. I used to stream via a Roku/ Pinnacle unit via the tape socket, but now use the Olive One.

It's now some years since Martin restored the BM2000 for me, but I just have to say how well spent the money was on the restoration. The quality of the output is just amazing, and internet streaming is really so superior to the FM tuners on these Beomasters it really is the way to go.

So, a really big thank you to Martin (and his fellow restorers). Without them those of us who find just recapping a speaker a daunting project would be lost (and so would the finest B&O equipment from the 'Passive' era.)

Well at home, FM is really better than streaming. Mmm...

Perhaps the quality is different in different countries.

I usually do everything myself, often with Martin's spot-on advice, but he re-foamed my MC120.2 woofers and the job is amazing. Thanks again.

FM stations are nowhere near as abundant as the 20000 on the net. Depending on where you are relative to the transmitter stereo quality can vary.

Radio Paradise is in California, so the net is the only way. 128 or 196 kbps.

have to say I stream Jazz Radio - Paris Jazz Cafe through my old systems and it sounds amazing, much better than FM - plus no DJ's!

Reading the thread I wish I'd taken my BC7700 there - I have no idea how to recap and change all the stuff but am saving it to restore one day....

Thanks for that recommendation. There's a whole group of stations at jazzradio.com broadcasting from Lyon.

(Maybe Jaques gets them on FM!)

I now the feeling and the 8 hour round trips but it is wonderfull and amazing to enjoy the experience once you get it back home and enjoy it.

Since getting a radio antenna for my Beomaster 6500 I got very good FM signals here in Denmark.

Yes, oddly my BM6500 is picking up FM really well after a spate of too much interference in London - great thing with the BM6500 is the mass of inputs and connectivity - CD has been replaced with Airport Express and a DAC, will be getting an internet tuner on A.Tape, Phono is now a Thorens turntable, still use a BC6500 on A.Tape2 and it connects to everything else around the flat, meaning I can control Apple TV through it - and the MCP still impresses! - so nice to be able to still use vintage pieces with modern technology.
