Can anyone help me - are they behind the frets?

Cheers

Nigel

Hi Nigel,

I had BL 8000s before. I believe you find their serial no. under the panel where you connect the cables (ML and power). Press to open.

Cheers,

No serial number there on mine, I've just looked.  Never thought of it before but the only place I can think of is under the frets.  Hopefully someone knows definitively.

Dave.

It is on (under) the flap that turns up to reveal the connectors. It's only a sticker, so if it's gone it's gone. There may be another somewhere inside (cannot remember) but not under the fret I'm afraid.

This picture of a parted out BL8000 seems to indicate a sticker on the cabinet under the frets:

Looks like the generic type label, but worth checking. I believe you could see them through the fret with a torch/flashlight (keep it against the fabric).

Yes, but there is no serial number on it!

I promise you that the serial number and the type number are on a label stuck to the reverse of the plastic flap that covers the sockets.

Press to release on Mk1's and pull the flap on Mk2's.

Then stand on your head to read!!

If not there then somebody has removed them, probably for a dubious reason.

There is a copy stuck to the inside of the cabinet during the build

Many thanks guys - under the flap they indeed are!!

Feeling particularly chuffed with myself at the moment.... Have bought a pair of white mk2 Beolab 8000s and a Beolab 2 all for just under £1400. Can't wait to get them hooked up....

Cheers

Nigel
