Hello All

Does anybody have experience of the above set up?

Customer has bought A9 and despite several attempts and re-sets cannot get the Airplay icon to appear on the iPhone.

The set up goes perfectly and the white light glows on the A9 indicating that it is connected to the network.

It just seems that the router is not allowing the Airplay function to work.

I have been told that adding a Cisco access point would solve the problem but obviously that incurs further cost.

The other option is to change a setting within the Netgear router. Something to do with "I.P. isolation"?

Can anybody give me some pointers on how to get this working?

Many thanks

Opman

IP Isolation (AP Isolation) is a security function the router contains which when turned on does not allow any device connected to see any other device. This being useful in a public space where you want to limit potential hacking of devices over open WiFi networks.

Clearly it also has the consequence that if the A9 and mobile phone is on same network the router will NOT allow them to see each other (if turned on).

So should be as simple as turning it off and the setup should work 100%

Hi Opman

We had the same issue about a year ago with a BT HH3. It would connect initially and play, then the following day the airplay symbol would disappear on all hand held devices despite the indicator light on the A9 still showing it was connected.

There was an issue with the DHCP lease time in the router that wouldn't allow it to be seen after a certain period of time, we had to power cycle the router and hey presto it worked again. This is a known issue with BT HH3, having done the research and proved to the client it worked on our router they weren't having none of it. It's not a fault of the product, poor quality router most likely.

Chris

I would either suggest a Devolo DLan 500 wifi system that is plug and play and it can be added easily to your existing router or if the router is nearby the latest Cisco E6500 works well along with any Draytek such as 2820.

The customer contacted Virgin and requested an up to date router. This has been supplied and A9 works perfectly now.

Thanks for your assistance.
