Hey everyone,

I have just got hold of a very well kept beogram 1000.

The timber is very good, the needles all work, the plastic cover is a little worn out, but expect that with age.

it needs some very minor work, only replacing the aux cable. the belts are fine given its age..

whats strange is this one has 4 speeds, 16 and the usual 3 other speeds...

it's no issue, but just unsure if this is a rare piece, an early model, or something else?

was certainly something different listening to an old 33 through my Beolab 8000(via an overture)

It's an early version.
Not exactly rare but probaly not too common either.
The first models also had grey hammer-effect lacquer rather than the later plain black.

I also have one of the BG1000's with 4 speeds.  It has a silver/grey hammerite effect surround rather than the usual black.  I don't think it's that common but there are some around.

Dave.
