Hello all, my parents just moved into a new house and my dad wants get a sound bar for the TV. I was wondering if there was anyway to connect the Beolab 3500 to our Samsung TV with ease (so even my mother could figure out how to control the volume) or if we should just go with a Sonos Playbar instead, does anyone know which would sound better anyways?

One way to connect the Beolab 3500 is by using a Beolink Converter (connected to the 3500 using master link) and then a special cable that you connect to the Aux input on the Converter from either the RCAs or Headphone jacket (headphone is better I think because then it might be possible to use thf TV control to adjust the volume).

The Beolab 3500 would need to be powered on independently using the AUX or A.TAPE command (could be that it will work with touch controls after the first time as I think it will turn on what ws last listened to using touch) and depending on your TV volume can be adjusted both on the TV or Beolab.

if you have a multi-remote like Beo5 you can include everything in a macro.

Have not tried this myself and my Beolab 3500 is still not mounted so I cannot confirm everything above. It is possible though and not that imconvenient but I would assume that the Sonos bar would integrate seamlessly so if that is your prio, Sonos could be better - but then it eould not be B&O. 😄

My B&O products: Beosound 9000, Beosound 2300, Beosound Century, Beolab 8000, Beolab 6000, Beolab 4000 x2, Beolab 3500, Beolab 2000, Beolab 10, Beolink Active x2, Beotime, Beo5 x2, Beo4, A9 keyring x2, LC2 dimmer x6 and growing....

Other solution ... But a second hand Beovison Smile or even a BeoSound Big Smile

Both of which would need some ML cables

BeoNut since '75
