I have a Beocom 6000 MKI system with the pyramid base and 3 Beocom 6000's and one Beocom 2 along with a Beotalk 1200. I have had the set-up for quite a while. I have had the pyramid base and one handset from new along with the Beotalk 1200. All handsets are set as "common".
One handset has become unreliable over the last few months where it sometimes won't "answer" an incoming call and sometimes won't stop flashing when a new call comes in that has either been answered or gone to the answer phone. You have to physically scroll to the call on the handset and delete the caller ID for that call (all the other handsets still work fine). I think this is the first handset I bought but can't be sure.
Today the phone was blinking so I went and deleted the caller ID for the call that had come in. When I deleted it, it was still flashing and when I scrolled through the caller ID list no 20 on the list has somehow re set itself as the * this has now happened twice that a really old incoming call has been set as *
Anyway, to cut a very long story short, I thought I'd de-register the handset and do the "DOT 70009" reset. So on the handset I chose "Remove Handset" from the Handset/Base menu. The phone now says Not registered.
My big problem came when I tried to register with the base. It goes through all the rigmarole and finds the base but when I try to register it asks for a pin number. I do not remember changing the pin number so tried 0000. It then says something like "registration failed".
Is 0000 the default pin? If not what is please? Is there some way to reset the pin if it was changed and I just forgot? or is there another issue? I have searched on here and got the reset info but can't find anything that helps with the pin.
Any help would be much appreciated

The default PIN is definitely 0000 - it is mentioned in the manual on this site.
Perhaps the base has too many handsets registered and thinks that the 'faulty' handset is a new one because it has been reset. Use one of the other working handsets to remove that 'faulty' handset (and any other unused ones) from the base and then try to register the 'faulty' handset again.
EDIT: And I found that a new battery solved a similar problem with a temperamental handset.
Guy,
Thanks for that suggestion, I have gone in to de-resgister from one of the other phones and the only 3 that come up are the three that are left working. They show up listed as
2 - KITCHEN, 3 - SUN ROOM, 4 - UPSTAIRS - so I'm assuming 1 is no longer there as that was 1 - LOUNGE (and as it was 1 I suppose it must have been the first phone I registered with the base)
I think I must have changed the pin at some stage and just forgotten that I did :o(
I might just try turning the base off at the wall and restarting it then try registering once more (just in case) and will then up date here.
Just spotted your edit and I was doing all this to rule out the battery or was planning to get a new one :o)
EDIT - Turned the base off and back on ant tried to re-register the hand set - it still requires the PIN.
Thanks
Does anyone know if I can I get an override pin from the dealer?
The Exeter dealer I bought it from is long gone but the new dealer is very helpful and may be able to help out.
