there is a Beogram TX2 for sale by me with a MMC2 tip and the seller is reputable and giving a one year warranty with the machine should any part of it fail, table/cartridge included.
what i wanted to know was what is a fair price for a table like that in very good condition? they are asking $850 but to be honest that seems high to me, even with the MMC 2 cartridge.

The price is way to high, A working TX2 you can buy for 200 to 250 USD, cheaper if you are searching a little longer. An original MMC2 I would pay USD 25.00 for. All MMC cartridges are old, and the suspension is giving up, if not now then within short time.
Counting: TX2 in working condition USD 250.00, MMC cartridge repaired to MMC2 condition from Axel Schürholz USD 225.00
So USD 475.00, with one year guarantee (which I will doubt with a 25 year old item ) max. USD 550.00
And the MMC2 will go bad if not repaired.
