Hi all,
a friend of mine will move into a new flat and asked me which sound system he should go for. He is new to B&O.
I could´t give him a good advice. I love our BS 1, it´s a very lovely and powerful music system. I do not own the BL 4000 so are they much more powerful as the little system? I think the only thing the BS 3000 is superior is RDS and the link compabilty.
Any advice?
kind regards,
Adrian
For me as a main stereo for the home BS300 with BL4000 is a no brainer. You will have better stereo imaging when placed right and better sound.
The BS1 is good for what it is but it cant compete with stereo+speakers.
Just my thoughts.
I suppose it will depend on a number of things.
What does he actually want his music system to do - radio, CD's connectivity? Will he want a portable system? Does he want true stereo sound? Does he want any tone control? How much space has he got in the flat to devote to a system? How much is he willing to pay? Does he want to connect any other devices to it to play via Airplay or any others?
BL4000 speakers are wonderful for their size, can be discrete on a shelf or on the floor, wall mounted etc and will produce true stereo sound with ABL. Connect a Playmaker and play all of his streamed music, Netflix sound etc.
Read up on the BL4000's, they are a gem:

I'd identify his needs first and then find a system to suit those needs and his budget.
