hello everyone. I am trying to figure the next direction for my system. I am close to buying a BL19 to add to my BL1, BV11-55 and BS9000. But looking at some threads I stared thinking that at a bit of a premium to the BL19 I could add a used set of BL9s and potential have the bass that I have been missing. I use my current system equally for music and films.

Any feedback on BL9 bass? Ultimately is the BL19 a better incremental solution?

I bought a pair of new BL9 earlier this year and they sound very good. The BL19 is probably not bad but would it not look strange with a pair of BL1 that has such a different design?

The BL9 has much more sound than BL1 and is much more subtle - will probably look better with your BV11 too. So if you want my opinion then the answer is: get the BL9´s.

I added a BL 19 to my BL 1 a few months ago and I am very happy with this setup. Now I have the bass power I always missed with BL 1. Sound is great with music and video, far better than BL 2 which is very 'boomy' with music.

BL 9 was never an option for me because I love the design of BL 1 that fits perfectly with my living room. And I always hated the pinguine design of BL 9.

Hi

I think that a pair of bl1 with a good sub (especially if the sub is wireless) are more interesting than a pair of bl9. The bl1 are already very powerfull, nicer and just lack of more bass. As rear speakers i think they are far above the bl9 because of their height.

It is of course a question of taste.

If it is about addition, I'd go for the BL19 - I am with Räuber on that.

If it is about replacement, I'd certainly go for the BL9 - in spite of Räuber 'hating' them Unsure

MM

There is a tv - and there is a BV

After some thought I decided to purchase a grey BL19 to add to the setup. And I am really impressed with the difference. The BL19 not only adds bass, but also improves how the BV11-55 handles speech - much much clearer. It is a substantial difference with BR. For stereo I have just the BL1s and the BL19, and as mentioned it added the bass that the BL1 has always been missing.

In terms of aesthetics I put the BL19 next to the BS9000 (on a stand). It matches very nicely. I will try to upload some daytime pictures over the next few days.
