Hello!

Note: I'm relatively new to B&O with my first product being their new Avant TV.

I recently moved to a new house and got the new BeoVision Avant 85". Connected to the TV are the new BeoLab 17, 18 and 19.

The house was prepped with MasterLink integrated sockets in several rooms and the previous owner had some BeoSound 3500, which I opted to put up as well.

I have since added a BeoSound 5 to have a MasterLink Master to feed the 3500s and this now works.

I have also added a BeoLink Converter NL/ML which I have connected to a  MasterLink outlet and plugged into my network.

My problem is that I cannot get my BeoSound 5 to use the speakers on the TV. When I enter the Product Integration menu, I do see the NL/ML box and I go through the setup and select that the box is in the same room as the TV and that it should use the TV speakers. The TV saves the settings, but nothing seems to be stored on the overview of Product Integration and I cannot get the music to play.

Do you have any suggestions as to what I might be doing wrong here?

Does the BeoSound 5 need to be connected DIRECTLY to the the NL/ML or is it OK to use just the MasterLink cabling in the house? If it needs a direct connection, how do I then get it to talk to the 3500's in the house?

Thanks in advance! :-)

Mike

Sounds like a great system. I have Masterlink, Beovisions, and a Beosound 5. But your question is beyond my expertise as I know nothing about the Net Link and connecting to the new Avant. Hopefully someone here will have an answer for you.

The avant and the bs5 must both be on your network.

I recommend some type of network UNMANAGED switch. Connect the avant and the bs5 to the switch.

Also connect the bs5 to the masterlink.

The bs5 is somewhat of both an NL and masterlink product.

If you connect both the NL and ml you should be fine.

I assume the avant is connected via network link ? With cat7

Ps : great system

Thanks for the nice words  I am very happy with the setup except for this small issue of having the BeoSound use the wireless speakers connected to the Avant

The BeoSound 5 is connected to a BeoMaster 5 which is on the network. All units are connected through a local switch which is right next to them. My house is cabled with Cat7 all through out.

However, it's like the Avant does see the NL/ML converter but when I go through configuration and everything is saved it still seems like it's unconfigured next time I visit the menu.

That is peculiar

Is the bs5 set up a music server?

Well, it serves both music transferred with BeoConnect and net radio and Spotify just fine to the 3500's.

But I simply can't figure out how to make it play on the BeoLab speakers connected to the Avant.

Has you avant been told to share its speakers? In tn option setting?

I'm not sure where I can do this. However, I re-checked my cabling all around and now the NL/ML is actually visible on my network and I can enter the Webserver using it.

Right now, MasterLink is disabled on it (see attachment). Also, if I do activate this, what role should it use?

Again, I'm not even sure if the NL/ML box is seeing the BeoSound5 system, but the BeoSound 5 and the 3500's are working.

Hey!

First of, thanks for all the help here :-)

I've done this now and on my Avant under Product Integration, I now see the picture that is attached (sorry, my TV is in Danish!).

Should it say something under the option about "Speakers connected to"?

Also, now this is set up, how do I actually get the BeoSound 5 to play any music through the Avant?

Again, really sorry for the stupid questions from the B&O newbie here :-)

Thanks,
Mike

Guys! It works! I selected N.MUSIC under Music on the remote and the TV is now playing music of the BeoSound 5.

THANKS A LOT :-)

And Merry Christmas to you all!
