Many of us with the original Avant have experienced the issue of the video having a magenta hue when using the component input. I came across this article on the internet today that might provide a solution. In the 4th paragraph from the bottom, the writer makes reference to some older televisions showing a magenta hue because the tv has trouble converting YPbPr to RGB. If this is the case, I'm wondering if selecting RBG on a connected (1st Generation) Apple TV or DVD player when connected with component cables will remove the problem of the magenta hue. My Avant is currently in storage, so I can't test this theory. I just thought I would pass it along in case it might be of help to someone.
