Hi
I have a 1970's Beocenter fitted with the Beogram 3000 turntable.
As well as cartridge woes (see other post) I also need a new belt, ideally from the UK.
I understand that the size and 'pliability' is important so am unsure about buying off ebay for example.
Does anyone have a favoured supplier?

But do make sure the belt is worn. These are extremely durable and if the turntable is slow or noisy then the belt is the last cause to consider, especially if it still has the original brown one.

Martin does supply some but not all suitable belts in the range. Another supplier of suitable belts (according to other Beoworld members) is Axel from his website. Just make sure it is the correct type of BG3000 you order for if you do buy one.

Following on from the comments from 'Chartz' - what makes you think it is the belt that is the issue? The TT section will undoubtedly benefit from a clean and lubrication. If the belt is broken/perished for example, then a replacement would be necessary.

When I got my Beocenter 3500, the belt was simply missing, so I had no other choice than ordering one from eBay (at the time, PM sent for the shop's name and address). I was lucky, it fitted perfectly and is still in use today.
On the other hand, I purchased a mint Beogram 1000 before Christmas (yes Dave, the one that partners your Beomaster 1000, what a pair !) and it is running on its original belt. But the motor was frozen, running very slow.

The original belt was v stretched (would not stay on) and although I shortened it I think I overdid things as now v rumbly! Ie I think too tight...
I have lubed the idler, motor and adj shaft but understand that this shaft, on which the idler pivots, has to be really free otherwise the deck runs slow. Which mine does!
Will see how the new belt works but ill prob need to strip down the adjuster/idler pivot shaft
