Hi everyone,
Sorry to start off my membership here with a question...
A month or so ago, I was lucky enough to find a pair of mint RL60.2 speakers on a skip. I took them home and like their sound so much that I decided they were keepers.
I've had no luck finding the proper stands for these, so I'm going to try knocking something similar up out of copper tube and plumbing fittings(!). Not ideal, but better than nothing.
What I need though, is some kind person who owns some stands to measure them for me. I can get a good idea of the dimensions from online photos, but precise measurements would be much better. There are two styles around. I'm planning to make the ones with two thin uprights, as opposed to a round vertical column. Many thanks,Nick.
Hi Nick, welcome to beoworld.
I can't help you with the stand dimension but I'm sure someone will come back to you with those.
Please post some photos when you have finished your stands as I will be interested to see the results.
If you want to keep the copper bright, you can polish it first and then spray it with a clear lacquer - I did this in my last home with some exposed pipework and made a feature of it and was very pleased with the results.
Martin.
Thanks for the warm welcome and suggestions, Martin, much appreciated.
All I need now is someone with some Redline stands, a tape measure, a pen and paper, and 5 minutes to spare.
Anyone?
Nick.
