Hi all...new here.  Just picked up a beocenter 3500 with speakers.  In really nice shape but the motor doesnt quite turn.   I have seen it start to spin slightly when i play with the speed selector and if i put a bit of pressure on it by pushing a bit i can feel it try to start.  Also the speed adjustment know seems frozen....from what i read that is somewhat common.

I was figuring to remove the motor and see what could be done...any suggestions?

Welcome to Beoworld !

The oil in the motor bearings have dried and the motor spindle seized. It's quite common after 40 years.
Same goes for the speed selector and fine speed adjustment mechs.
There has been quite a few threads about this problem here, mainly in Beogram 1200/1202/1203/3000, which
basically uses the same motor principle.
Do a search and you'll find something, I'm sure.

Not a particularly easy repair but well worth it for such a nice set.
