But you can't possibly judge the quality of the sound itself Huh?

It's the same as asking you to compare the shade of blue you saw yesterday to the shade you saw today!

Firstly, what is blue, and how do you measure it? If it can't be measured, then how do you compare different versions of blue and which is "better"? Is either shade of blue correct?? etc. etc.

Ban boring signatures!

I was looking at my Beosound 3 at breakfast this morning and I got a flash. That's the colour combo I would love on a Beolit 15 : black rubber and leather with alu grill. That simple.

....

Black/alu please !

We have to wait for a complete BeoLit 15 in limited black edition

like BeoPlay did Last year with last limited BeoLit 12 in white edition.

This test brings some first impressions. Beolit 15 vs 12 and A2.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPfHlL7YSCA

Thank you for the link.

The BeoLit 12 sounds more natural if you are front the speakers.

It is more clear and powerful.

The BeoLit 15 sounds with filtered loudness sound.

It is more spatial like a mini 5.1 sound system.

Just a question of taste. Big Smile

Awaiting for a black edition please ! Yes - thumbs up

Really? Saying what speaker you think sound best based on a youtube-clip? That is a instant credibility-loss.

I watched the clip , wearing headphones , and found it a useful means of telling how successful the "360 sound" is in comparison with the Beolit 12.  Yes at first it does seem like seeing an advert for a tv on your tv and thinking the other set has a better picture!

And where were the mics placed for this internet comparison? Were you listening to the mics, the headphones, the internet clip, or your own headphones??

I don't want to sound disparaging but please!!!

Gotten 2 BeoPlay A2s one in black and one in green, they are good for portability and for the bathroom. But the cabinet resonance contributes greatly to the muffling of the sound. Not the clearest speakers.

B&O should introduce portable speakers to the core Bang & Olufsen line. They fact that they are not doing it is actually a little silly. Small expensive things sell better than large expensive things. Great publicity too... But you need to have the goods to back it up Core range should go up and up to inform the cheerful BeoPlay range. I think people who can afford $5000 bags can afford $1000 portables to go into them.

Huh? Wouldn't the average man on the street think why buy a VW when I can get the same in a Skoda for less?

not arguing just thinking that's what perhaps the logic is for the placement of portable speakers. I said to someone what I paid for the A2 and they were horrified - they also thought the A2 was big lol. Portable speakers don't fill LV bags but a different feature set, party mode or integration, materials, and design could very well :-)

Chanel and Dolce& Gabbana sent $10000 headphones down the runway. You see kids walking around the streets in headphones that cost at least $200 these days. You think $1000 will be too out of reach for a bling portable?

PS. B&O should refresh the BeoLab3 like immediately and put them in Apple stores. What B&O seriously is market presence. Let the new generation see hey we have $5000 desktop speakers for your dorm room or new york/tokyo pied-de-terre. Take cue from Devialet's Phantom. Current Lab3s are a little harsh sounding in the highs and bass a little boomy for long term listening.

US economy is doing very well now. That's the demographic B&O should be targeting. Street + Expensive + Bling. lol..

I don't care about Dolce & Gabana.

I think I like the Beolit 15, but will not buy it due to the colors it has. Gold, pink, baby blue, it may be fashionable but certainly not for me. I cannot imagine any grown-up man buying a pink speaker? I know Apple is also selling golden iPhones and iPads but I know nobody who actually bought one. And they at least give the option to buy regular white or grey. Maybe normal colors like white, grey, aluminium and black will be added to the Beolit 15 in the future, then I will become interested and probably buy one.

BeoVision 11-55, BeoLab 8000, BeoRemote One BT, AppleTV 4, 2x BeoPlay A2, BeoPlay A1

Amazone, I agreed with you before seeing the champagne one (not gold). When I did, I discovered it is actually very elegant and it would perfectly blend with my wooden floor.. I suggest you should see it in flesh...

I pay attention to you for the BeoLit 15, there is no infrared sensor for a remote control.

I found the IR sensor on the 12 to be a PITA, because whenever I turned something off with my remote it would also turn of the 12. I wanted the 12 to be on all the time.

That could be/have been changed easily.

Just put the BeoLit 12 in Option 4!

Then it will not react to the remote, unless you place a 'Link' command before the command you want to use on the BeoLit 12.

Or you could have disabled the ir using Option 0 Smile

A huge portion of lifestyle electronic brands stakeholders are female. Why assume B&O targets male only? Birds of the same kind flock together please do not judge the whole world base on people around. Look at statistics. There's a reason why data collection is big business.

I found the IR  useful to switch off the radio on the iPad using the beo4 .

Just out of the shop for a side by side comparison between A2 and Beolit 15. Spent 15 minutes changing devices on a specific depeche mode live track (my secret garden) and a song played by my daughter "girls in luv".

I choose the 15 by far. Warmer, richer, nice details, great bass management.

May go for a pink one (!?) this afternoon (only color available yet).

Beoboy68: The black edition is the first one that I would buy! In all other colors the Beolit 12 and 15 just look... ugly.

btw: What's the exact technical difference between Beolit 12 and 15? Only the exchanged Airplay to Bluetooth and missing IR receiver?

The IR control of the Beolit 12 is a big bonus at home.

And did anybody had the chance to compare the 12 and 15 soundwise?

I was just in the store in Helsinki and listened to it. Here is my advice: throw your Beolit 12 in the garbage. Case closed.

It is mono sound. Same sound from all mid-range.

The pink one looks really good. My champagne is arriving on the 20th, but I have to see the colors side by side before I decide.

I am so glad that I got rid of my 12.

@ TWG

Certainly, BeoLit15 in black version will be in top sales offices. I don't understand the Bang & Olufsen's marketing for colors.

The BeoLit 12 is a classic stereo compact 2.1 audio system with 2 tweeters and 1 bass woofer. It sounds clear, neutral and powerful.

It can be remote control easily.

The BeoLit 15 is a mini 5.1 sound system with 3 tweeters (1 on rear ), 2 passives bass (each side) and 1 big bass woofer. It sounds more spatial and boomy with filtered warm and colored sound.

No IR sensor is integrated.

How can you call it 5.1? It does nothing to simulate surround sound...

Got the same one on Saturday . There is a better box inside that box!

not quite as novel as the Beolit 12 packaging. Our children prefer the 15 in champagne to the 12 in blue.

Enjoy

Thanks guys. Quick pic from the beast.

Nice paquage, nice built quality.

Haven't played much with it yet but I like it more than I expected (aestheticaly).

Sound is clear with heavy bass when needed.

I was waiting for the blue (first of april) but my dealer had the champagne today and it goes well with the leather.

Second Play product so far (with H6).

One question : is it possible to reduce the sound of the device when you switch it on/off ? It makes a loud sound when you switch it on or when you switch it off. Thanks.

It's a too loud for me 'dee do' sound.

You can't secretely switch on and off your Beolit 15, all the house as to know !

After a few hours of listening I think that Beolit 15 is too boomy for my ears. Fortunately there's an equalizer on Spotify so I switched the "less bass" set up and it's much better.

One thing is sure that device can fill a room. Well done and well priced.

If only Spotify would move the EQ to the actual play-screen, and not have it hidden all the way BACK in settings Sad
