Apologies if this has been asked before but couldn't find the answer by searching.
connecting tx2 to ouverture via a preamp
where is the best place to connect the Earth lead? The manual, says to the amplifier but I don't appear to have an Earth post on the ouverture and no easily accessible casing screw to use
if I touch it to the casing of the preamp the hum stops so that would seem to do the trick but as its supplied by a 12v transformer there is no Earth to the preamp.
so if I connected it to the preamp casing the hum would go but is that safe or correct? Don't want to get electrocuted or blow anything.
whats the best idea please ?
thanks in advance
DJ
The earth lead needs to follow the low-amplitude signal and there's no need for a separate ground any further than that. So the casing of the preamp is exactly the right place to terminate it, under a case screw if there's no better option.

Thanks for the reply, that's done and buzz free (plus safe in the knowledge I'll not be electrocuted!)
