Experienced a considerable power “interruption” where the lights flickered, went out, and came back suddenly.
My computers were unamused and all electronic gadgets required resetting, but no big deal, no damage done.
All my older stereo equipment was unfazed as one would expect.
However my Beomaster 4500 was “dead,” refusing any commands from either the panel or the remote control.
I unplugged the BM 4500 and let it sit then re-plugged it and the BM 4500 came back to life.
The previously selected FM station was changed, but other than that, all appears normal.
I figured the power surge affected the BM 4500 computer, so I tried my BeoCenter 9000, which is basically the same unit…. but it was fine, including retaining the FM station of choice.
So my question is any ideas why the BM 4500 reacted this way while the BeoCenter 9000 didn’t…. and does it appear damage may have been done to the BM 4500?
Personally I figure the 4500 is somehow just a bit more sensitive than the BeoCenter 9000 and this power surge doesn’t mean a thing, but I thought I’d ask just to make sure.
