Hello,

Just got lucky last sunday on a local bootsale and bought a wooden B&O box and 2 TT carttridges.

Q, is the silver carttridge a sp1, it is not marked  and does it have any value, stylus looks ok.

Q: The wooden box , is it genuine and was it the original packing of the cartridge ?

Q: The golden carttridge is obviously a sp8,the stylus is broken but can be replaced does it have any value?

Nice finds.

Can't say if the shiny cartridge is an SP1 but judging from the angle of attack and the corresponding flat spot
on the needle housing bottom, it could be. It is for mounting on a non-B&O tonearm which could support the theory.
Not too often seen but not particularly sought after either if you can trust EBay sales.
The color of the tip streak (green/blue etc.) tells the needle type.

The golden SP8/9 is a reproduction cartridge from one of the many companies who copied B&O cartridges back in the
1960s and 1970s. Easily spotted since it doesn't bear the B&O logo. Some of the copy products are better quality than others.
None quite as good as the original, though.
Still somewhat collectable, mainly because of their history.

The wooden box is the original packing for some of the SP cartridges.

As to the value - well, you know what you paid for it.
