Dear Forum Teckies,
after all the valuable help I received through the forum with my BC 9500, which now runs like-new, I decided to have another go with my abandoned BC 9000 !
This had a sliding-door-issue, now fixed with new cords, the glass-panel issues, now fixed with new tapes and the classic CD issues.
The CD is a mystery ! I replaced it with a known good unit (incl. good clamp ! ) from a local aficionado, convinced that it would work. .......But it did'nt ?? Just did the same as the old one. Spins-up as soon as you touch LOAD CD, then hatch closes, one hears the drive spinning, then the drive shuts-down and hatch opens. No music at any point in the cycle.
I've just read your very useful posts on this problem from 2007, and there is a hint about a Capacitor on a PCB. etc....
If anyone has time, could you elaborate on this board and whichever components that might have failed. i.e board numbers, locations, description of parts ?? Perhaps in the meantime (since 2007) there have been newer experiences and fixes.
I would like to tackle this myself if at-all poss.
Tape and radio still sound beautiful.
Kindest regards and a peaceful weekend
Zorb.
