I don't know what the answer is, probably PCB xxxxx - just a word of caution, leave it be until you get the answer, 9000 obviously shutting down to protect itself in my view.
Hi Rauber, sorry to hear your news, but these things happen! Just out of interest do you mind me asking how much was your repair over in Germany and what was involved?
Look here, you are not alone! Not the same BS but similar problems (and costs).
Although I was upset, when the CD of my Beosound 3000 quit after only three years, it didn´t kept me from buying even more B & O .........
I agree that the BS 9000 is a really beautiful piece of art, so keep it save and care for it.
Regards,
Rolf
Yes, and to stay rich they buy some items used .........
I was thinking about buying a BS 9000, reasons are obvious. But you confirm what exactly was my concern and what I´d hear earlier before: The week point seem to be the transportation mechanism and the laser unit.
But, some things are too beautiful to miss. But also some take longer than others. Hence, I will wait a little, buying a lot of vintage B & O 80´s and 90´s this year.
I had an AKAI CD-Player in the early 90´s in use with my 1983 Beston/GPS system, after 10 years the disc tray refused to move out completely, which I also found not to be a real long time in use for a fault. I didn´t let it repair, because after some time we bought our first B & O equipment, and that did the job as I told.
P. S. The Beston is still in use, apart from the cassette deck.
Raeuber, in my experience, having sold well over 100 of these units, to have four laser changes in 14 years is a lot - I have units in presently from 1999 - 13 serial numbers - which are still working fine but we change the laser as a precaution since we warranty the unit for 24 months.
