Hi all. First post for me but have been haunting site for ages.  Be kind as I will no doubt be asking questions that have been asked before. I have hunted the forums, learnt plenty in the process, but can't find the answer.

I recently acquired a BG4000, cosmetically good apart from lid hinge areas, but need to source both belts, particularly the small carriage belt. Martin can't help, so can anyone advise me as to the specs of the small belt, e.g. diameter, square/round, and thickness. Also, are the belts the same for the 4000 and 4002?

I'll be tackling the 4000 once I finish with the BM1900 shortly. Wish I'd never sold the BG4002/BM4400/BC6000/M75/MC80 setup...stupidity set in early. I keep hoping the buyer advertises it before I shuffle off.

This place was recently recommended to me - Consolidated Electronics

For the small belt, tonearm motor, I ordered their Square Small Belt  3.8 (SS3.8).
For the platter belt, I ordered their Flat Medium Belt 34.0 (SC34.0)

They have a minimum order so I ordered a couple of platter belts and a few tonearm belts.
It will probably take a week for the order to reach me but I have been assured by other Beoworld members that the belts work good. I will update you on my experience with them once they arrive.

Thanks for the reply and the link, which looks to be another useful source for odd bits. I look forward to hearing if their belts pass muster, especially the servo belt.

The belts from Consolidated Electronics arrived this weekend.  They ended up having the Square Small Belt  4.0 (SS4.0) in stock so I went ahead with that one for the tonearm motor.  For the platter belt, I got their Flat Medium Belt 34.0 (SC34.0).
Both belts appear to work good in my current Beogram 4000 project.

Thanks for that. Good to know the size of the platter belt and that it works well. The tonearm belt is a little more problemmatic as I came across an addendum in the manual about a change from the original round belt to a triangular belt from production number 157700. As a result of the new spec, both pulleys were also changed. My deck is serial number 133132 and has the round belt.

Measuring the belt which was on the deck when I got it (it was square and slipping badly) I got a 31mm i.d. round belt which seems to be working well and is not too tight.

Nothing is simple with B & O..  Part of its enduring fascination.
