I searched the Beogram forum but did not find the details I am looking for. Like most every 4002 or 4004 owner I want to resurface the keypad on my Beogram. I will use a wooden fixture to keep the grain parallel and perpendicular to the keypad's sides as I sand to restore the grain. What grit do you suppose would produce grain that matches the factory finish? I plan to use satin or flat clear lacquer or polyurethane as the top coat. Anyone have a recommended clear finish for this step?

I would start with something super-fine like a Magic Eraser pad and see if that sufficiently brings back the surface.
