I can't copy above link, but bottom line is that Beats headphones have additional weights in them (1/3 of total weight) , i found it a nice pun from B&O

Copying Samsung's tactics. Firstly, NEVER put down a competitor in business, it shows that you are weak.

Secondly, this H6 doesn't even work properly with smartphones due to its lack of sound volume.

Thirdly, Beats Pro's are far superior in construction and sound quality. There is NOTHING special about the H6 with its lifeless sound.

They shouldn't compare themselves to any other brand when they can't even make a Bluetooth pair of headphones that actually work properly. Maybe they are aimed at the Moment customer!

Lastly, B&O NEED Apple's support in order to sell their Play products at Apple stores. Never bite the hand that provides the five course meals!

Seriously, whoever has made that advert is an absolute idiot! They provide a link with shows a trade price breakdown on BEATS.

B&O are RELIANT on the Apple store for a HUGE HUGE HUGE percentage of their sales. Whoever has OK'd this ad needs firing immediately. The damage that this could do to B&O and their Apple relationship could end this company!

What a horrible tit for tat marketing campaign. Maybe B&O have been bought by Samsung? It's certainly the same form of desperate marketing.

Hi Paul,

You have a point but I actually quite liked the pun regarding weights of the headphone itself.

Maybe the have overdone it a bit.

I second your opinion on the H6, the reason why I didn't buy them.

They are actually extremely valid points.

A salesman/company should never criticise a competitor to make themselves look stronger - if this is done, it has the opposite effect.

I've never had a problem with my H6's and those who have used them all prefer them over Beats and many other makes.

As for the H8's - what a disaster and if any other company sees this B&O attempt to denegrate another make - god help them if those companies do the same with their superior performing/reliable Bluetooth headphones over the H8.

It wouldn't surprise me if this Facebook post vanishes pretty quickly - as it should.

Dave.

Laughing - perhaps you can link us to some creditable reviews that back this up!

I do however agree with never putting down a competitor in business, a tactic for which your beloved Apple has a long history!

If B&O is stupid because of this advert, Mercedes, BMW, Subaru, Fedex, Pepsi, Audi are all stupid. All these brands used to name competitor in their adverts.

But it is really good to know that there is somebody in this forum knows better than all these giants and their marketing departments. Respect.

Slightly off kilter B&O have just shown their face for the Google watch.... aesthetically it's not good ... maybe be all these marketeers do not really know what they are doing...

we tend to forget there is more to design than designing.

Are they? Unsure

Do we have figures to back this up?  Whenever I've been in an Apple Store, both in the UK and the US, nobody on their staff has given a damn about B&O.

Indeed I heard Apple threw out most of the BeoPlay products.

beats is only one thing: Good marketing.
Beats headphones have anything but absolutely nothing that you could describe as "good sound". They even don't seem to know what "Hifi" is. Using a beats headphone is like putting your head into a subwoofer to listen to classical music. But I have to admit that their marketing works great and people buy that stuff.

For big headphones I'm using Sennheiser, AKG and Beyerdynamics during all the years of music love.
I want to have a realistic and natural sound reproduction and not a head massage.

As I'm not using Facebook: Could somebody post the link to the ad B&O play is referring to?

I didn't think it was that catty. It's a good ad breaking / tearing down the product - good to see all that goes in it. I traded in my beats for H8 because they're more comfortable over a long wear, you can use them without noise cancelling and the sound was better in my opinion. Yes - thumbs up

Doesn't surprise me a bit...Beats are not sold on their engineering expertise, or sound quality (which is dreadfully over bass boosted and unsubtle) but on their hip/cool factor to people with no exposure to anything better. Same market segment that will line up for athletic shoes, or to be frank even line up to buy an iPhone that they have never seen or laid eyes on to know if it's buggy or not, just to have the cool, slick shiny item before their buddies do.

And showing it won't matter one whit, the kind of fanboy who is into this will attack the people who pointed out the emperor is naked rather than turn their ire towards the company selling them crap for high prices. Eric Hoffer's "True Believers" in a nutshell.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus. Sad

Slight tangent ... I was in an Apple Store today and walked their row of beats headphones (over and on ears) trying them on, listening to ambient noise, and playing some iTunes.

None (imho) were as good as the H8s I bought.
