Hi Can anyone recommend a repairer in Australia who can work on a Beomaster 8000 receiver? My local B&O repair centre is not interested. Needless to say the Beomaster is heavy to ship 21kg (47lbs) unpacked. Thanks in advance John Perth Western Australia
So you've tried,

Thats all I can think of.
Im in WA as well :-)
The Beomaster suddenly decided not to work properly it would shut down without any warning. I took it to the local B&O repair centre (Tonon.com.au) paid $400 for it to fixed.
About a month later it failed again with exactly the same problem. Repairer said it would take more time than he had available and he did not want to do anything further on it.
Whereabouts in WA are you?
Regards
John
Dave Farr:If what they fixed has failed, they should either repair it under warranty or refund you. That's shocking service for $400! They can't just wash their hands of it. Get some local consumer advice. Dave.
Dave.
Unfortunately Perth is very isolated it is 2700km to Adelaide which is next nearest city. As I have quite a lot of B&O gear I can't really afford to upset the local repair centre!

Greetings john,
Did you get your BM8000 repaired in the meantime ?
I am in perth as well
Drop a line if you feel like as I share similar trouble with vintage B&O products
Cheers - ALF
Hi Alf
Sad to say I haven't got the BM8000 repaired yet but I do intend to. I bought from Dillen a replacement capacitor kit but I'm a bit worried about my soldering skills!
I did ask a friend who does electronic repairs if he would look at it for me, but he declined because it had already had a repair.
The problem with the BM8000 is the shipping weight. I have been told of a repairer in Queensland who is supposed to good and of course there is "Beolover" in the States and I shudder to think what the shipping to the US and back would be.
I also have a Beomaster 4000 that needs fixing, I bought it off Gumtree supposedly working, needless to say it didn't work just blew fuses and it needs quite a bit of cosmetic work. However it only cost me $40 so its not a disaster.
What are your vintage B&O problems?
You can always phone me on 9255 3064
Regards John
It might be more cost effective to fly Belover over for a working trip to Perth so he can fix all our stuff haha
I'm not joking by the way.
I need some some work done as well haha
What if you guys teamed up and shipped a big box to a good repairshop?
