Please share some details. I am trying to decide between an Essence and a Moment to use with my BV7 and BV10. Would love to hear how it works with BV7.

From the BV7: front and rear powerlink to RCA cables.

These run into each audio switch (input 1)

Essence PL1 runs into a splitter so it connects to input 2 on each audio switch.

This way I have the audio switch set to input 2, and Essence works as it should. When watching the BV7, I simply flick the switches to input 1.

But I need a trigger for the front, since those are connected to a BL2.

I'll draw up schematics when I am done with wiring.

Nice and nerdy - nothing for a household, that involves a 'wife' and kids 👪👨‍👩‍👦‍👦

Putting the new S8 hub with BV7 and Essence as sources, and connect Beolabs to the output should make this work as a charm as the hub switches to the source that is active. Should even be able to connect a Beogram maybe Big Smile

How would you connect the BV7?

Seems a lot of trouble just to not have a BV7 in P.MUTE mode ..... am I missing something ?

Using same set of speakers for surround sound and the essence is not possible without a switch. Or am I missing something obvious?

Why not just connect the Essence as a source to one of the analog-ins of the tv.

Assigning this to a 'button' on the remote and using 'AV' before pushing the 'button' should bring up the sound from the front speakers with a muted screen.

Note: the Essence must be set to fixed line-out.

Because I want the ability to push one button to start music.

You'll need the often recommended PowerLink Switch from Almando, then?

There is a tv - and there is a BV.

Leo I don't know the details of MM's box ...

It seems to me the easy requirement is hard because we see trying to bridge old world with new world.

In the old world the BeoPort gave me one touch music.

In the new world the Essence gives me one touch music.

To get the same effect across the two worlds I needed the BLC.

In retrospect that now seems to have been an expensive way to get one touch ....

A quick google search gives you this information:

http://www.avhub.com.au/editors-blog/hi-fi/when-is-8216hi-res8217-not-8216hi-res8217-397055

And it is not about bridging anything - it is just a handy way to connect two devices to one set of BL's.

If you want to 'bridge', you need the BeoLink Converter (as you wrote) or - even better - a NL-BV ;-)
