I ordered one. It does more than movies. It will also stream Prime music and one's purchased music.

What do I need to buy to allow my BeoRemote to control the Fire Tv as i don't think it has an IR?

Looks good - do we know if the remote is wireless or bluetooth or if it can learn IR commands like the Apple TV can - great thing for me would be that it has Amazon Prime films and BBC iPlayer as well.
Does anybody tried to mount it inside the Beovision AVANT 55 cabinet ?
Would it fit ?

Yes it is 15 millimeter wider and longer than Apple TV. I thought that there were some margins. In addition I do not know how long is the power cable as it will need a power brick.
The latest Amazon Fire 4K streamer (now reduced to £64.99 from Amazon, but needs a £79pa Prime subscription) fits comfortably inside the Avant 55 and has a one metre power cable included in the box. You can control it directly from the beoremote one. There is also room for a WD 1Tb USB3 disk to record/play video.
It plays YouTube 4K content beautifully - note my broadband is fibre 30 to 37mbps.
I can perform most Fire functions using the beoremote, except enabling subtitles which requires the Fire remote. The equivalent button mapping table is no help. Any ideas?
Just looked through the manual and it doesn't seem to have the Learn IR remote command, which apple tv has - I found this useful for controlling apple tv with a B&O remote on an older TV - has anyone discovered anywhere in a menu where you can do this on Amazon TV?
The 4KAFTV doesn't have IR at all. You will have to use a FLIRC USB to IR adapter. The code to control it is the same as the old code.

My Amazon Fire was installed in my Avant 55 by the technician who set up my TV, and everything has worked fine via the beoremote for a full year, so B&O should be able to advise you.
However, I use the BT TV box for all my TV recording, playback and streaming, which can also be controlled from the beoremote. You need to program the remote to recognise BT TV, which will then convert the remote's signal to the equivalent BT TV commands. I produced this chart which details most of them:
After a week or two you remember all the important ones.
By the way, you can also access Netflix (and much more) from the BT TV box, and Netflix content is vastly superior to Amazon video with no extra charges.
