Hi all, I thought recently that my Beocom 2 battery is dying but I actually think the problem is the table charger, due to the extreme heat and humidity here the black charger is slowly melting
it is very sticky to the touch , you cannot really clean it with a cloth as it comes off a bit on the cloth and all sorts of dust and debris is sticking to it, it's really horrible to touch
i think bits of it had dropped down near the inside part where the handset sits for charging and was stopping a good connection, this is a big problem here due to the climate all sorts of adhesives fail and the feet on units melt into the shelf
now I bought a dummy charger for use in another room which is generally ok although the bottom feels sticky, so could I replace the top dome of the charger with that of the dummy one which might give me a few more years service, cheers
You can buy a 3rd party power supply that has the same voltage but more power. Of course it could be that you need to solder the Beocom's charger plug onto the new power supply cable (watch out for the correct polarity!) It would be inflated but the power supply has less stress if it has to put out less power than it's able to deliver. And you should find some way to cool it (maybe with a little fan...)

I have the same problem with the base! Its "melting" exactly the way you describe it. All sticky and impossible to clean. I live in Sweden so its not due to humidity and extreme heat for sure
Very strange...

Well that's a shock, how can it possibly be melting, I don't even leave mine on permanently , just switch it on every few days, what can possibly cause it, I am completely baffled
