A couple of years ago I inherited a Beovison 5 which is still going strong. I have just bought a second hand 3500 to link to it, but am not having much success.

I have made up the masterlink cable (direct through, pin 1-pin 1, 2-2 etc)

I have tried various options, but currently both units are in different rooms and set to option 6 (I think! The 3500 displays as much so long as the ML cable isn't plugged in and the TV blinks it's LED)

The Beovison works as usual, but the 3500 just displays the ':' in between where the time would be and s mute dot

I am guessing I am missing something obvious, any advice would be much appriciated

Thank you

Hi Dave, welcome to BeoWorld.

When you joined the Masterlink cable did you use a B&O junction box or simply join all the loose ends in a terminal strip? If the latter, you need to common the pink & striped blue strands. If you use the proper junction box this happens within the box.

The BeoVision 5 should be option programmed as option 1 and the BeoLab 3500 set to option 6.

Hope that helps.
