Hi, I got a Beomaster 3000-2 In good condition. The 5 buttons on the far left were bent in by quite a lot as if it had been dropped. This meant that none of these buttons could be depressed and thus the speakers couldn't be switched on. I disassembled it and carefully clipped 6 wires to separate the face from the main unit. I took out the earphone jack unit and managed to get in a clamp and bent the metal clip back. I reassembled and resoldered. Fantastic! Everything worked and sounded great. Only problem was that the balance slider was a bit scratchy and the volume slider lost a channel for a split second occasionally. So of course I had to carry on. I cleaned the inside with light compressed air. I inserted alcohol soaked tongue depressors into the sliders with the intent to clean them out. After that stroke of genius the left channel is dead. As far as I can tell Phono 1 is left only but tape 1 is only a hum. I had a retired electronics guru here who thinks it could just be a faulty volume slider. Are they serviceable or replacement? Please help! I am so annoyed I didn't just leave it alone!
