I have a recent BeoSound 5 installation using a Sonos internet bridge. I now find that whenever the Sonos needs an update it may stop working ! Technician spent nearly two hours today reprogramming the system. I am a Bang and Olufsen devotee sine the early 70's but find it ridiculous that such an expensive system is so high maintenance and unstable. Any one else had similar experience or would like to comment ?
I agree, Nico, but my moan is that my dealer recommended, installed and charged me for the Sonos link and now suggest it doesn't work reliably if there are no other Sonos products in the system to allow for the updates to be installed by the end user. I was suspicious when B & O started bringing other companies products into there range and wonder why they do not provide their own wireless links. Now the talk is to replace the Sonos bridge with an ethernet mains system, which I believe uses the domestic ring main wiring to transfer the signal. Regards Barry P.
nico vercammen:This is not a bs5 problem but a wireless network problem ... I would go for wired network if possible, less problems and much more stable ! Nico

Fully agree with Nico. Running the system through wired network makes it nearly "bulletproof", in my case, smooth sailing since replacement of the motherboard in early 2010 (know issue with early BM5/BS5), i.e. 100.0 % reliability.
