Hello,

Does anybody know if these can be used with a beogram. And do they make any difference that the normal ear would be aware of, or would the vinyl benefit from it.

Also would the added weight (280-300g) burn out the motorAngry

Thanks for any reply

Beovision 7 40 mk 5 ,beovision 6x3,   beosound 3000, beogram 3300 , 2 x lc2, 2 x beocom 1401, beocom 6000 x 2,  5 x beo4,

, 4 x beolab 4's, form 2, h2, a2,a1 and a beolab 2 😀😀

Don't bother. Puts excessive pressure on the platter bearing and no doubt stresses the motor more at startup. I'd be surprised if you could hear any difference anyway.

Also on the later tangential beograms that use the weight of the record to determine the size (and thus drop point for the arm) adding a weight on 7" records would likely result in a destroyed cartridge!

Martin.

I have a couple that weigh in at 410grams... I just use them as desk paper weights as they are beautifully machined aluminium, I agree with the above comments and thought they were more a DJ thing to reduce skipping .....

we tend to forget there is more to design than designing.
