Hi!

I have a Beosound 3000 (option 0) connected to a Beovision 6 (option 2) and it all works just fine.

But when i switch the BS3000 for a 1614 converter i get no sound on the TV. The Converter is connected to a Essence. When i press play on the essence the TV turns on (no picture, as it should be) but no sound.

Any ideas? The converter is second hand so it might not be working right?

But how have you connected the Essence to the 1614 Converter? 1614 is Masterlink and Essence is Netlink. You need a NL/ML converter to bridge between the Netlink and Masterlink networks for it to work. .

Hi

The 1614 is a converter between datalink+powerlink-->Masterlink.

So i used the powerlink out from the Essence --> powerlink in converter, masterlink out --> masterlink in Beovision

If your Essence is connected only via Powerlink to the 1614, it can`t transmit any sound, because the converter expects audio from Audio Aux Link.

Yes, should do so, because the Essence PL sends an "on" signal via PIN4 on Powerlink to the converter, which let the converter send an "activate in audiomode" signal to your BV via ML.

1614 must be very old - read the Beolink converter article about 1611 and 1614 here on the product site.

Everything in your (not working) setup behaves as to be expected. You have simply connected wrong devices.

I agree with Hjort. You won`t even be able to control the Essence via ML.

Hope this helps

Stefan
