I need to set up a Beo 5 for an installation which includes Beovision Avant 32 DVD (8443), BeoCentre 6-26, Ouverture, Beolink 2000, BeoMedia 1 and PC2.

The Configuration Tool 6.62 has only three Avants: 32 DVD Mk III, Avant US and Avant (not the 8443). It has no entry for an Ouverture or PC2.

I've tried going back as far as CTSetup 4.1.1, but it still has no entries for the old devices. 3.57 wouldn't run - presumably it's not compatible with Vista - but it didn't appear to hold the old devices, either.

Do I need to find a really old Config Tool, or should I use the most up to date version, and edit the XML?

If so, I guess that the Ouverture is a 3000 + tape drive. But how do I add a tape drive?

Any help appreciated.

Mark

Hi,

just use the Avant 32 DVD MKIII it's the same. For the PC2 use a Beoport, which is the new name for the PC2. and for the Ouverture a BeoCenter 9500 gives the same functions.

I hope this helps

Hi Mark

For older audio and TV's systems use Other Audio/Television and this adds Tape, phono etc. Hide unused sources, do not delete them as you can corrupt the file.

Nicely solved by using the 9500 data for the Ouverture. It insisted on having one room name for the Ouverture, and another "room" which was named the same, but with "-1" appended to it, to support the BeoLab 2000. Quite why it refused to put them in the same room I don't know! However it worked, and I was then able to "hide" the room with the Ouverture (as it's commanded via the BeoLab).

Thank you all for your help.
