The very kind people at B&O Exeter did a once over on my poorly Beosound 8 at the weekend. Big thanks to Matt there, can give them high recommendation. The outcome was that my Beosound 8 that had been in the wars was ok on the inside, but it refuses to recognise my iPhone when connected.
It plays using the line connections great, but I would like to park the phone and charge etc.
The prognosis was that the unit would need to be sent back for the replacement of the roughly triangular plasticy bit that houses the 30pin iphone/pad connector. It must have had a fairly large trauma as the plastic lugs that have the screw connections in are broken off and it can be unplugged from the unit without dismantling the unit.
So does anyone have a spare bit from another dead BS8 or a new spare part to replace (as fitting looks pretty damned simple with a single plug) that they could help me with.
The pinouts from the BS8 might help as I could cannibalise another iphone/pad stand to get a working 30-pin connector and replace it myself.
