I am new to this forum and have recently purchased a Beocentre 6-23 (2007 model) and I am trying to set-up an Apple TV with HDMI to my Beocentre and would greatly appreciate any help/advice as to how best connect the two to get the best possible picture/sound.
I am not technically-minded and have tried to connect the Apple TV with the HDMI lead through a HDMI to VGA AV Adaptor then via a DVI lead to the VGA port at the back of the TV in the top left slot. I have also attached a 3.5mm Stereo Jack to Twin Phono from the Adaptor to the back of the TV into the red & white audio ports at the back of the TV on the top left-hand side.
The engineer from B&O briefly told me over the phone how to amend the TV's programming but when it found the Apple TV the screen was greenish and it would not play any content.
Am I doing something fundamentally wrong here, i.e., wrong cables/adaptors and/or incorrect TV programming set-up.
Any help would be MUCH appreciated! I do not want the TV for anything other than watching content via the Apple TV.

Hi Paul and Welcome to Beoworld,
That sounds like an hdcp (high definition content protection) problem. Basically, because the 6-23 is not 'HD ready', it will not carry out an hdcp 'handshake' when the HD output of the Apple TV is connected, even to the DVI input.
I had this problem with my 6-26 and a WDTV (a bit like Apple TV) - when I started using Netflix the hdmi output (connected to the DVI on the 6-26) included the hdcp protocol and I could not get a picture. Luckily, the WDTV also has an SD (composite) output so I reverted to that.
If you search the forum for 'hdcp' you will see similar problems. Sorry that I cannot help, other than to point out the probable cause of the problem!
