I have what I hope is a 'straightforward' problem with my beomaster 7000 - it's completely dead. No response to the IR, no front-panel lights etc after 15+ years of faithful service.
Looking inside, the low-voltage fuse (4A, beside the rectifiers) had blown, so I tried replacing that, and it blew again straightaway.
Browsing some other forums here, I've heard the rectifiers themselves can cause problems on these units ? From looking at the PCB I'm guessing there's two power rails, one for the logic / controls (which presumably is always 'on' and has the fuse and the smallish smoothing cap) and one for the audio (switched using the relay, biiig capacitors, fatter tracks on the PCB). Is that right ? And it's likely to be the logic/controls one that's dead. Any suggestions on how to test a bridge rectifier, or is the simplest thing just to try replacing it (they seem pretty cheap !) ?

The rectifier can be easily checked with a diode tester, but a blown fuse can be other failures like a short to ground somewhere
