Hey everyone, so I really want to purchase an A9 2nd generation and found a used one. The guy says it is from the love affair collection and has the gold rim and everything. But that it's a 1st generation. I emailed bang and olufsen and they said the love affair collection was only made in 2nd generation. Was there another gold model that this could possibly be that is 1st generation? He sent me a photo of the back which doesn't have any Bluetooth markings and which says type number 2945 item number 1200194 and serial 23965771. Also it's a UK version and I live in the USA, will that matter? Please advise thank you very much!
But does the "type 2945" mean anything, it seems like that's the type number for a 1st generation
If anyone could tell me the info on the back panel of their love affair UK version that would be very helpful, thanks so much
I believe there used to be a special edition of the BeoPlay A9 Golden edition, at some point in beginning of 2014. That was a BeoPlay A9 1st generation.
That was NOT the "Rose Golden"/Love Affair Collection, that come later (2015) and it was indeed only available in the 2nd generation.
Your type number indicates this A9 as being "Yellow" NOT Rose Gold.
It is definitely a mark 1 and therefore not Multi Room compatible. This version has an infra red sensor to allow you to control via Beo4 or BeoRemoteOne. It does not have Bluetooth.

Great thanks for all the feedback. One more question, will it matter that it's a UK version with 220v if I'm using it in the USA? If I decide to buy the mark ii it's much cheaper from Europe but not sure if it will work in the US?

so, yes, if the Beoplay A9 does NOT accept multiple voltages, you'll need a step-up converter to feed it with 220-240V.
